The data for place of death for each locality is shown below. The ‘other home’ category relates predominantly to care home setting; ‘elsewhere relates mainly to hospice setting.  There is variation between the localities in the place of death with the categories of ‘elsewhere’ and ‘other home’ showing most variation. This is likely to reflect the local provision of hospice and care home settings and will influence the practice level data shown in the next charts.

Within GP practices in Central Bedfordshire the proportion of deaths in usual place of residence varies from 24 – 65%. However at this level of data the numbers involved can be quite small and this needs to be taken into account when considering the above chart.

NB practice data relating to very low numbers has been suppressed.
