- It is difficult to establish time trends in ADHD due to increasing awareness of the diagnosis leading to apparent increasing prevalence. Prevalence estimates are very sensitive to diagnostic classification used.
- ADHD is thought to be associated with psychosocial adversity. Therefore it would be expected to be associated with areas of higher social deprivation.
