Teenage Pregnancy

Corporate/organisational indicators and performance measures

Continuing to reduce the rate of under 18 conceptions is one of the key objectives of the Department of Health Sexual Health Improvement Framework and is also one of the 66 indicators in the 2013 Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF).

Nationally, there are two key related Public Health Outcome Indicators within the Public Health Outcomes Framework:

  • To reduce rates of teenage conceptions amongst under 18s
  • To increase the detection rate for Chlamydia among those aged 15-24 years

Performance against these indicators is monitored on a monthly and quarterly basis through the following:

  • Central Bedfordshire’s Children’s Trust
  • Public Health Senior Management
  • Central Bedfordshire Senior Management Team
