Recommendations (historical)

Please find below progress made agaisnt the historical recommendations set in 2015 Teenage Pregnancy chapter:

1. Conduct a ‘deep dive’ analysis into the high rate areas to further understand how to tackle the slower rate of reduction in these areas.

  • Progress to date: Completed November 2015

2. Conduct a Sexual Health Needs Assessment to inform future configuration of sexual health services across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough.

  • Progress to date: Completed April 2015

3. All GP practices to promote the sexual health website by displaying posters and signposting young people to the ‘safesexinbeds’ website.

  • Progress to date: Brook sexual health nurse offered visit to all GP Practices within Central Bedfordshire to provide an update on Chlamydia screening including the importance of screening and how to encourage screening.

4. All organisations to increase awareness of the risk factors and signs of sexual exploitation.

  • Progress to date: CSE communications campaign to increase awareness of CSE. Launched  in  May 2016 with a parents/carers focus with the young person element due to be launched in October 2016.

5. Implement the Family Nurse Partnership Programme from March 2015 across Central Bedfordshire to continue to improve outcomes for teenage parents and their children.

  • Progress to date: Family Nurse Partnership launched March 2015.
